Middleton Hall Wedding

Briana and Ste

Briana and Ste could not have picked a better day for their wedding at the historic Middleton Hall. The late May sun made sporadic appearances but saved the best for last. I shot the happy couple in front of a fiery sunset reflected in the stillness of the Middleton Lakes RSPB reserve like a mirror.

Middleton Hall is run by an independent charitable trust. It is set in 42 acres of the peaceful North Warwickshire countryside. In fact, it isn’t just set, it is so pictureseque that it nestles! It is a Grade II listed manor house dating back to the 13th century that is steeped in hisory. The rustic yet stately buildings have a certain homely and initimate charm. This is compounded by the friendly and professional staff.

I was surprised when Briana was given away by by one of her best friends. Unfortunately her real dad was too ill to make it to the wedding. A brief FaceTime call to Dad before the ceremony settled her nerves though, and she was ready! I felt tears forming as I documented these initimate moments.

I enjoyed shooting Briana’s long walk from her pre-wedding boudoir to the ceremony. This runs along the landing overlooking the main hall, down the grand staircase and finally up the aisle! I used my Sony mirrorless cameras on silent shutter mode so the congregation got to hear every word of the ceremony.

I don’t like to pose my couples very much. Moreover, I like to give very minimal direction and just let things happen. Therefore I needn’t have worried about Briana and Ste. Firstly, during our couple shoot these guys frolicked in the evening light like young gazelles in the full flower of youth. Secondly, I hardly needed to say anything, it’s like they modelled before..! Thirdly, I snapped away to my hearts content and got great shots!

In addition to all this energetic couple frolicking, Ste and B had enough energy to sprint back to the Hall for the cutting of the cake and first dance!

Thank you to B and Ste and the staff at Middleton Hall for an incredible day.
