Soughton Hall Wedding
Katherine and Bob
Katherine and Bob got married at Soughton Hall, near Mold in North Wales.
My journey out to the lavish venue of Soughton Hall was topped off by an epic finale. In other words, this stateliest of stately home’s drive goes straight up between rows of conifers.
When I finally arrived after at least a mile, I was met by the manicured gardens. As a result, they were alive with vibrant colour under the summer sunshine. The house itself was covered in Ivy, whose deep greens contrasted with the stonework.
Proceedings were to take place inside the Grand Hall on the second floor. To clarify, the word ‘Grand’ is hardly enough to justify this cavernous expanse. Therefore it is not merely the Grand Hall, more like the Majestic and Monumental Hall!
Moreover, Katherine she looked stunning in her flowing dress as she walked up the aisle. Certainly, the intricate lace covered bodice was the centrepiece. Judging by the expression on Bob’s face, he definitely thought so too!
After photographing family and friends groups on a lawn adjoining the hall, I took the newlyweds off around the gardens. We had fun shooting amongst the groomed hedges in the dappled sunshine. Back in front of the Hall, Croquet on the lawn was a hit with the wedding guests as were a few glasses of Pimms to cool off during the hot afternoon. In conclusion, I would say it was one of those perfect summer days that you wished would never end.
Thanks to Katherine and Bob for a glorious day, and to their family, friends and the Soughton Hall staff for all the fun.
