Driftwood Spars Wedding
Stu and Carly
Stu and Carly tied the knot just a stones throw from their home in Perranporth at Perranzabuloe Parish Church. Being a born and bred Cornishman, Stu had never left his beautiful county until he was fully grown. Until, that is, he met Carly, a happy-go-lucky girl from Manchester who broadened his horizons. Stu has since travelled the world (although it is said that he still gets nosebleeds if he crosses the Tamar river into Devon…!).
Being a surfer, I am overly partial to the North Coast of Cornwall. So perhaps this Journal post is a little biased when I say the location of the Driftwood Spars overlooking Trevaunance Cove in St Agnes is one of my favourite Cornish wedding venues.
It was a short hop for the Cornish and Mancunian extended families from the church to the Driftwood. The best men for this wedding were Stu’s long time friends known only as “The Twins”. They gave one of the funniest speeches I have ever heard (and I have heard a fair few!), which is still to be topped.
Stu and Carly wanted wedding portraits outside the renovated mine buildings on the cliffs at Wheal Kitty. Consequently, Carly drove her antique mini into position in front of the enormous chimney. We had fun shooting from lots of different angles, with Carly selecting one of the images to blow up for her wall.
Thank you to Stu and Carly for having me as their photographer and being an easy couple to shoot! Thanks also to the amazing team at The Driftwood Spars for keeping proceedings rolling perfectly.
