TREGENNA CASTLE IN ST IVES
Amy and Oli’s wedding took place on Saturday 12th of October 2024, at Germoe Church and Tregenna Castle on a beautiful, warm Autumn day. The sun shone for the happy couple, but we also were gifted with some fantastic cloudy skies, which always make for interesting, more textured photography.
Oli and the boys got ready at Tregenna Castle before heading to Germoe Church for the ceremony. I captured them all joyfully prepping themselves for the big day, including enjoying a nip of whiskey too! Amy and the girls got ready at Amy’s parent’s house, located around the corner from the church, and were a bundle of laughs whilst hair (by Lauren Adams) and makeup (by Balance of Beauty) were done. Amy looked stunning in her dress (by wed2B) and with her bouquet of flowers from Sara the Florist.
We reenacted some old prom photos that day for the couple, with Oli and the boys replicating an old prom photo set over a bridge outside the church, and then later that day, Amy and the girls took the same photo outside Tregenna Castle as they once did many years ago.
The church service was wonderful, with a male voice choir singing for everyone during the service, and Amy and Oli’s little dog stole the show by being the ringbearer. After the ceremony was the confetti tunnel and group shots, which everyone really enjoyed.
The couple then jumped into an old VW Campervan (by Cornwall VW Wedding Hire), and we drove to Porthleven harbour to get some striking outdoor shots with the vivid blue sky behind them.
After our little jaunt to Porthleven, we drove onto Tregenna Castle for the wedding breakfast and evening reception. The tables looked stunning, and the flowers by Sara really stood out.
The food at Tregenna was exceptional, as always, but the couple had a little surprise up their sleeves for cutting the cake. Just as they were about to cut the cake (by Swirls & Pearls Cakes) using a normal knife, Stefan, the wedding maître d’ jumped out from behind a curtain with a huge sword. They then took the sword and sliced the cake clean in half using it – with me just about stepping out of the way in time with my wide-angle lens!
At this point, it was golden hour, with the light dipping perfectly for some more outdoor shots around the venue grounds. We shot the couple in front of the castle and among the tropical gardens, too.
After that, it was the first dance and the party followed, where guests partied the night away to the DJ (Phase 2). It really was amazing!
Thank you so much for having me shoot your special day Amy and Oli it was a pleasure! Here’s to everyone involved!
