The life of a wedding photographer

Hi, I’m Leo,

I’m a wedding photographer who lives in the beautiful county of Cornwall. I live with my family in the Cathedral city of Truro and have been a professional photographer since 1997. Previously I lived in the north and midlands of the fair country of England before eventually settling in Cornwall. Here I have started a family, lectured in Fashion Photography at Falmouth University and pursued my passion of wedding photography.

When I am not shooting or editing, then I can be found on the beach with my family or surfing, skateboarding, cycling, swimming or running. I love running so much that I once ran from John O’Groats to Lands End! I also love to travel and am available to photograph weddings or elopements anywhere and everywhere all over the world. Shout and I’m there!

Photojournalism

My style of photography was born from a career in photojournalism and eventual role as photo editor for Sidewalk magazine. This was an action sports publication put together at a London publishing house. I’ve travelled around the globe, creating stories based around the many personalities in the subculture of skateboarding. I’ve learnt to observe narratives unfolding from in amongst the protagonists. Above all, it is this that has influenced my wedding photography style today.

Documentary

My methodology for weddings is simple: I won’t get in your way. Therefore, I will let the day flow and document the moments that happen spontaneously. I won’t ask you or your guests to pose. Those laughs, tears of joy, hugs, kisses, confetti throwing, champagne-cork popping, cake cutting, first dancing, register signing, saying I doing, welly wanging* … capturing these moments in time is what I love to do and it gives me a sense of fulfilment that can’t be matched.

If you’d like to book me for your wedding photography, please see my investment price page for all available packages. Whatever your wedding plans, I am excited to hear your ideas so please get in touch!

*(yes there was welly wanging at the last wedding I photographed)
