Harlestone Village Institute Wedding

Heather and Dean

Heather and Dean got married at Harlestone Village Institute, Northamptonshire
Before this wedding, Dean and his best man Lindsay asked me to shoot some photos of them skateboarding at the local skatepark. However, I was a little wary of this! Above all, I didn’t want the day to be marred by holes in any hired wedding attire. Or worse potential broken limbs! But I needn’t have worried, suits and bodies came through unscathed. In addition, we shot one of the most interesting pre-wedding shots I’ve ever taken!

After that, the rest of the day could not have been more lovely. Everything at the wedding was testament to Heather’s attention to detail. Firstly, the arrival of her bridesmaid entourage at the traditional church service in Duston (via an antique London Bus). Secondly, their onward journey to Harlestone Village Institute in a restored VW camper van.

Digital manipulation

The early spring weather smiled upon the rural Northamptonshire setting, with some epic light casting halos and shadows around Heather and Dean as they took a walk in the fields.
A highlight of the day had to be the best man’s speech/slideshow. Lindsay and his sidekick Neil included some fairly risqué images of Dean in his younger days, although I’m unsure as to how much digital manipulation was employed.

Harlestone Village Institute is the ideal venue for kids to run around at a wedding. For instance, if the weather is as good as it was on Heather and Dean’s wedding day, there is ample space in the surrounding fields. In addition, the side lawn can accomodate a marquee. Heather and Dean’s filled said tent with a children’s entertainer for the afternoon. In short, this went down very well with all the audience under 5 feet tall!
