The Barns at Hunsbury Hill Wedding
Maxine and Matt
Maxine and Matt got lucky with the weather for their wedding at the picturesque The Barns at Hunsbury Hill. It was early April and things could have gone either way, but Matt told me he had it covered*. As it turned out though, the sun shone, the guests smiled, and joy was unconfined.
The Barns at Hunsbury Hill is an interesting location as it’s in the middle of a housing estate. You drive through suburban desperate housewifesque streets thinking you’re in completely the wrong place before suddenly arriving. The rustic yet stately buildings have a certain homely and initimate charm. This is compounded by the friendly and professional staff.
Maxine’s friend Heather had got married on exactly the same day 5 years previously. It was lovely to see Heather and her husband Dean at the wedding with their 2 energetic daughters. It made their 2014 seem like 5 minutes ago.
Things ran smoothly throughout the day. This was despite Maxine’s toddler’s attempts to upstage her during the ceremony by flashing at the congregation!
Maxine had previously scouted some locations that she wanted us to shoot couple portraits at. One of these is under an old wood shelter which houses a random collection of colourful doors. These and the soft filtered early spring lightmade for the perfect photo backdrop.
Interestingly Matt’s best man was also his boss. His speech was polished and very funny, which is what you would expect as it had been professionally written!
Thank you to Matt and Maxine and the staff at The Barns at Hunsbury Hill for an incredible day.
