KNIGHTOR WINERY

Alex and Leo

Knightor Winery in Cornwall is a beautiful boutique venue – the perfect setting for the intimate wedding of Alex and Leo. The weather behaved itself despite the forecast on Friday 16th Feb 2024, it was dry and at points sunny, raining only after we’d successfully shot the outdoor sparkler photos with all the guests that evening!

Alex and Leo required a very relaxed style to their wedding photography that matched the vibe of the wedding itself, so myself and my co-photographer for the day (Danny Parker – who helped out in place of Kirsty) ensured we kept things chilled and fun when capturing all the elements of the day.

Pink Ladies

We set about capturing the couple getting ready at the venue over two different areas – Alex and her bridal group did their own hair and makeup in a little chalet next to the orchard. It was a lot of fun shooting the ladies mucking around outside in their silk PJs, the images have come out like the Pink Ladies in Grease with Charlie’s Angels vibes.

Leo got ready in the farmhouse, and once he was ready, he moved to the main area to start greeting guests whilst Alex got ready into her dress in the bridal suite in the same farmhouse. It really was such a beautiful light in there and the perfect setting to capture these special moments.

Cry Me A River

As huge Lord of the Rings fans, the bride walked down the aisle to the theme tune of the film, and it was a celebrant ceremony as the couple had already done the formal side of the vowels in a registry office the day before. So this intimate gathering was filled with stories of their life and was really just about celebrating the love the couple had for each other. Needless to say it was rather moving, there were certainly a few tears!

On the subject of tears, the Best Man struggled to get through his speech as it was very emotional, setting off most of the room listening in. There were also some lovely words by the Maid of Honour, and the couple themselves also did an emotional speech too. It really was wonderful to see them let all their emotions out to their nearest and dearest, and capture the guests reactions to the words being said.

Everyone Loves A Quiz!

Some fun and quirky elements I noted (and snapped too!) were the vinyl turntable with records acting as a guest book – people wrote on the records directly with their wishes for the happy couple. There was also a crisp wall that acted as snacks for guests which was very cool! After the wedding breakfast, that evening the couple did their own wedding pub quiz for family to take part in which was so much fun. Wow some tables were very competitive! And instead of having a DJ for the evening music, the couple free-styled their own entertainment with their favourite mix of tunes which everyone loved and enjoyed.

Alex and Leo, it was an absolute joy capturing your special day for you both, thank you for letting me be part of it! Here’s a few shout outs to other people/brands involved on the day…
