THE LOST GARDENS OF HELIGAN + GORRAN HAVEN MEMORIAL HALL
Becky and Mark
Becky and Mark’s wedding took place back at the beginning of April, on Friday 5th. They opted for the inimitable Lost Gardens of Heligan as their venue for the service and reception. After, we all headed to Gorran Haven Memorial Hall for the evening celebration involving eating, drinking, speeches and general merriment! Here’s how the day went…
Becky and her party got ready at a beautiful cottage at Gorran Haven where lots of laughter and tears were had. It was an incredibly emotional morning, and a perfect chance to capture the pre-wedding energy experienced before tying the knot.
Mark and his son spent the morning at a Llawnroc Hotel in Gorran Haven, donning traditional Cornish attire from Cornish Kilts. Similar to Scottish, the outfits were made up of a kilt, sporran, Prince Charlie jacket and waistcoat, plaid and Ghillie Brogues. They both looked incredible!
The weather is always a mixed bag in April. The ceremony was supposed to be outside that day but was taken inside, which was a good call as it did start to drizzle. But we lucked out in the morning with some fine weather, and it mostly behaved at the Lost Gardens of Heligan when we were getting the fun jungle shots of the couple which suited us all fine.
What was very special about Becky and Mark’s wedding, was that after the official ceremony at Heligan, they did an additional personal ceremony with some extra vows at the Gorran Haven Memorial Hall that they’d written especially for each other. This was in front of their nearest and dearest and felt super special.
Gorran Haven has a spectacular harbour wall, which in the twilight and ethereal mist, came out looking very dramatic and we achieved some incredible shots. Even though we all got thoroughly soaked!
Friends and family travelled from far and wide and I lost count of the many moments of laughter and outpouring of emotion throughout this most special of days.
A big thanks to the amazing team at Heligan, for making the day so super easy and relaxed. And to the Aussie Smoker and Gorran Haven catering team for the delicious food at the hall. Out of this world good!
“You were so much fun to work with, Leo and Kirsty, and we are incredibly glad we chose you. Thank you for your humanity and clarity. Alongside your humour and sense of adventure, our personalities were the perfect combination. Bringing back huge grins of utter joy when looking at these amazing memories.” – Becky the bride.
