Rachael and Max

Tuesday 26th March 2024 was a rather lovely spring day. The bride and groom – Rachael and Max chose The Green at Liskeard to tie the knot, which is a beautiful wedding village nestled in the tranquil Cornish countryside close to Devon. If you haven’t ever heard of it, be sure to check it out!

We got very lucky with the weather, with warm sunshine all day and only a dusting of rain in the evening. I made use of this gorgeous early spring sunshine and got some fantastic shots of the couple outside in the venue’s lane and beneath the surrounding trees. We were all treated to a wonderful sunset that evening too.

The couple requested very relaxed couple shots, much like the pre-wedding shoot I did for them back in the summer of ’23, at Botallack Mine down west (where we also had the perfect sunset that evening!). They leaned towards the documentary style of the day, and since they are such a super nice couple with fun friends and family, my job for the day was easy.

Kirsty was the 2nd shooter for the day, and helped with putting Rachael’s wedding dress on. She’s become quite the pro now at doing this! Rachael, now fully dressed and ready to head to the barn to say “I do”, tripped and fell down the last few steps en route. Now a wedding dress heap on the floor, we all dived forward to check on her, and like a pro, she exclaimed she was fine! Phew! She even had a smile on her face.

The rest of the day went without a hitch, the ceremony was held indoors in the barn, with around 40 – 50 people in attendance. The evening saw a funny tradition of “pass the cowboy hat and tutu round”. Anyone who came into possession of them both HAD to put them on. It was so funny to watch, and it got everyone involved.

One interesting fact of the venue – The Green, they have pom poms instead of confetti. These are 100% reusable instead of the one-use paper/natural version of confetti now used. They make for fantastic photos too!
