Harriet and Mike

Harriet and Mike got married at The Barn at Barons Hill Farm. This is an intimate venue tucked away amongst the rolling Devonshire hills. Indeed, the farm’s ancient 60 acres are quietly situated in the heart of the beautiful South Hams countryside. Their horses, chickens, alpacas, geese, sheep, a meandering stream and duck pond add to the nuance of Barons Hill Farm. The Barn at Barons Hill Farm is a beautifully restored agricultural barn in keeping with its original rustic use. For instance, it has high ceilings and a large private courtyard with views over the farm and beautiful countryside beyond. Likewise, the quietly rural setting was perfect for Harriet and Mike and their families.

Flat Shoes

The beautiful area reserved for the ceremony at Barons Hill Farm is on a fairly steep hill. On the morning of Harriet and Mike’s wedding, the dew was taking a while to lift. Therefore the slightly damp grass was a more than a little greasy. This could have proved disasterous for anyone wearing any kind of high-heeled footwear. Namely, the entire bridal party! A phone call to one of the bridesmaids’ partners later and we had a pair of Birkenstock sandals for everyone!

Flowers

Flowers are always a big part of weddings. Indeed I have worked with many amazing florists. The flowers at this wedding were provided by one of Harriet and Mike’s good friends, Emma Vowles. I have to say that Emma’s designs were nothing short of stunning! The ceremony arbour at Barons Hill Farm was decorated in an incredible array of foliage that almost made it camoflage! Moreover, the barn and the entire rest of the venue was adorned with Emma’s creations that complimented the colour scheme and overall feel of the wedding.
