Chypraze Wedding Barn
Holly and Jamie
Holly and Jamie chose Chypraze Wedding Barn as this delighful venue is tucked away out in West Cornwall. Chypraze Wedding Barn is part of Chypraze Farm. Indeed, it is a fully working Hereford Beef and Saddleback Pork farm with award winning and free-range produce which is homemade in the butchery on site. In addition, the 1895 restored milking barn is accompanied by our stunning sea views of the beach, Portheras Cove and the Cornish countryside.
Wrong date
Whilst Holly was getting ready for the big day, she recieved the customary present from her husband to be. This turned out to be a very nice cheese board! It came complete with, cheese, grapes and a littler drawer with pull out cheese knives. Ever the comedian, Jamie had also included a little note which read: ‘To my beautiful bride to be, I hope this keeps the hunger at bay. See you under the iron arch, I’ll be the handsome one!’ What it also had was ‘Mr & Mrs Cameron’ inscribed on it. But that’s not all, Jamie had thought to include date of their wedding too: The 14th July 2021. But wait, that was a month ago! It was now the 14th August 2021! Jamie’s wedding present to his wife had the wrong date inscribed on it!
There was much merriment derived from this blunder amongst the gathered bridesmaids, mums, hair stlylists and Make Up artists. Holly declared that she now had one up on her husband. He always prided himself on being meticulously correct about everything! Not this time!
Portheras Cove
After Holly and Jamie’s ceremony was over, the wedding party made it’s way down to Portheras Cove. Portheras is located on one of the wildest and most beautiful stretches of Cornish coast between the villages of Pendeen and Morvah. It isn’t that easy to find, which makes it fairly quiet most of the time. Luckily, the walk down from Chypraze to Portheras is a straight forward one. It is down a winding foot path, over a bridge and some rocks. Once there you feel almost completley secluded, as if you have stepped back in time. Holly and Jamie and their bridesmaids, groomsmen, parents and guests had a whale of a time playing on the sand*. Portheras is also a great location for photos. Indeed, Jamie and Holly enjoyed cavorting** on rocks, running through the shallows and generally revelling in the feel of the summer sunshine.
After their beach sojourn, the amazing crew at Chypraze Wedding Barn had transformed the room. The former seating set-up from the ceremony had now been replaced by two long trestle tables. There was also a top table reserved for the Bride and Groom, with a ski theme for the table decorations. The seating plan was an illustration of the resorts Les Arcs and La Plagne showing all the ski runs.

*and sometimes half in the sea!
