TREDUDWELL MANOR

Jesse and Curtis

On Wednesday the 10th of July 2024, Jesse and Curtis said “I do” at the stunning venue that is Tredudwell Manor. A beautiful 18th-century manor house and barn. Even though we were in the midst of a rather disappointing summer, we got so lucky with the weather on this special day; it was glorious with blue skies and was super hot!

I had met the happy couple just the year before when I did their pre-wedding shoot down in Charlestown. This day wasn’t so sunny. I remember it raining and we had to use my handy brollys to keep the couple dry. So I was really happy for them that their wedding day weather behaved.

The wonderful weather meant that Jesse and Curtis could tie the knot in a ceremony held outside, under Tredudwell’s pavilion, which made for really nice photos. The couple had soprano Nancy May – a singer who accompanied the service in the amphitheatre, with some lovely music.

What was really cute was the fact that Jesse and Curtis’ two dogs were brought down the aisle during the ceremony by a friend and had the rings attached to their collars. Another cool aspect of the day was the crazy golf available for all guests to play on the front lawn of the manor house – supplied by Portable Putts. I’m not so sure Curtis enjoyed witnessing Jesse beat him at a game though!

Once the crazy golf, meal and all the speeches were enjoyed, I took the couple away from the manor house for a little while to capture some shots alone under the pavilion and grounds. They returned to their guests to cut the cake and have their first dance, before heading off again to walk through a glorious golden cornfield with the house in the background. I love these shots as they encapsulate a summer wedding perfectly.

After Jesse and Curtis had partied with loved ones for a while, we also found some time to drive down a lane during the sunset to a little tree tunnel that overlooks the sea on the south coast. The photos taken here during sunset and twilight were just spot on. It really was the perfect end to a fantastic day!

Some standouts for the day include the antique wedding dress the bride wore, supplied by Two For Joy Bridal and looked just stunning. Her makeup was also flawless, done by Georgina Markham. The food was outstanding, too, cooked by Wellington Catering Co, especially the canapes! And hats off to the live band Morpheus – who kept everyone up and dancing for the evening party. These last shots of the day were full of energy, with the couple doing an impromptu dance in front of the band. These guys really knew how to let their hair down and enjoy their special day.

Thank you so much for having me shoot your special day Jesse and Curtis, it was a pleasure! Here’s to everyone involved!
