LAUNCELLS BARTON
Tom and Cerian
Tom and Cerian tied the knot on Saturday 1st June 2024, at a beautiful venue – Launcells Barton – a manor house set next to a farm situated right on the border of Cornwall near Bude. This is how the day went…
They were so very lucky with the weather, as it was a glorious sunny day, with golden light seeping into the afternoon and a burning red sky in the evening during the sunset. This, set behind the mist that was crawling in, made for such incredible and interesting photos.
I enjoyed covering the getting ready side of the day. The ladies all got ready in the most amazing old stone manor house, whilst the groom’s squad took themselves off to a little karaoke room after getting ready for some loud morning renditions of Robbie Williams, which had us all in stitches!
The ceremony was held on the lawn of the manor house, underneath a pagoda, surrounded by friends and family sitting on wooden benches. The lawn was also filled with awesome games, such as a giant Jenga and Kerplunk, and guests took part in the space hopper races – which, after a few drinks later on, became the most amusing thing to watch. It’s fair to say there were a few casualties!
Guests also got stuck into ‘rolling down the hill’ races – of which are pictured here, and still make me laugh seeing them. It was fantastic how everyone got involved and was up for fun in the sun. It felt like being a child during the school holidays, and everyone had a smile on their faces.
The farm next to the manor house was such a great setting, especially for the photos towards the end of the day. The farmer came to collect the couple and took them off on his tractor to the top of a hill to watch the beautiful sunset. We got some great photos here as well as posing on the tractor too!
As part of the wedding decor, there was a fantastic old telephone that guests could lift the receiver and leave messages for the happy couple. A really cool alternative to the wedding guest book I thought.
There were a few surprises to the day, one involving Cerian’s dad who was DJ’ing for the wedding – as part of the DJ in Cornwall team. Little did he know that he was going to be called onto the dance floor after the first song for a dad/daughter dance. He also didn’t know that there would be a fog machine lined up for it either so his reaction was priceless!
Another surprise was one of the guests – who is a professional dancing saxophonist – quickly got changed whilst the couple was out of the room, and surprised them both with a performance!
Thank you so much for having me shoot your special day Tom and Cerian, it was a pleasure! Here’s to everyone involved!
